However, this year it’s a bit different in that the Event lasts for the whole of March 2021 and it’s totally Virtual. So you can challenge your selves by undertaking a 5km or 10km distance walk, jog or run in your own time and place of your choosing. The Virtual Event Continued On… In response to the guidance around COVID 19, early in March the Mad March Team took the sad decision to cancel the event scheduled for Sunday 22nd March 2020. However, the virtual event had been running for the past few years and had proved really popular, so we thought it would be a good idea to offer people the opportunity to do this instead (following social distance advice of course). Images of happy families completing their runs began to fill our Facebook page and we busily started to deliver the medals which had been so deservedly earned. Here are just a few of the many pictures we received.
Take 10 volunteers and 303 energetic generous people and what have you got – Mad March Hare 2021 1st Official Virtual Event! As all Mad March Hares leap in to April the team would like to say a massive THANK YOU. Walkers, Runners and Children’s Activity Trailers showed great support for our event and have helped us raise over £2,500 so far for our chosen charity Breast Cancer Now. Sponsorship is still arriving at the Mad March Hare burrow so our total will rise. A big thank you to our supporters and sponsors who have helped us ensure 100% of registration fees goes to Breast Cancer Now. Keep an eye on the website and local media for an announcement of our final total soon.
