Take 10 volunteers and 303 energetic generous people and what have you got – Mad March Hare 2021 1st Official Virtual Event! As all Mad March Hares leap in to April the team would like to say a massive THANK YOU. Walkers, Runners and Children’s Activity Trailers showed great support for our event and have helped us raise over £2,500 so far for our chosen charity Breast Cancer Now. Sponsorship is still arriving at the Mad March Hare burrow so our total will rise. A big thank you to our supporters and sponsors who have helped us ensure 100% of registration fees goes to Breast Cancer Now. This is Cheryl Williams’ Story Hey everyone! As some of you all know I was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer in Sept 2019 and I finished my treatment in Jan 2021. It was very lucky that they caught the disease in its early stages and I went on to have the best possible treatment available to me which resulted in me getting the news in Jan that there was no evidence of disease. Having had 15 months of intense treatment has taken its toll on me but I wanted to do something to raise money for Breast Cancer Now. Although large it is said to be very friendly and happy to pose for selfies. Here we find the wild Mad March Hare in it’s natural environment. Banners are appearing You may have noticed that Mad March Hare Banners are appearing all over Swindon. What does this mean? It means that the annual Mad March Hare Event is nearly here. However, this year it’s a bit different in that the Event lasts for the whole of March 2021 and it’s totally Virtual. So you can challenge your selves by undertaking a 5km or 10km distance walk, jog or run in your own time and place of your choosing. Send us your proof of completion in whatever way you can and received one of our much coveted Event Medals. Mad March Hare Trail Event This year we are excited to be teaming up with Rose Louise from Days Out For Kids Swindon. She will be setting up a Lydiard Park Easter Trail for children and families to enjoy and raise extra funds for Mad March Hare. Registrations for this event will be open from 1st March 2021. Once you have registered for this extra event, your Trail sheets will be available to download throughout March 2021. A link to the download will be included on your registration email.
