Mad March Hare will be open for entries from November each year until all 800 places have been filled. If there are places still available you can register on the day; we had to turn down many people in previous years, so secure your place early!

Please post your entry form or hand deliver it to:

If you have not heard from us after 2 weeks of entering please contact us as we have had some applications go astray in previous years.

Who should the cheque be made payable to?
All entry fees must be made payable to Mad March Hare.

Can I write a cheque on behalf of someone else?
Yes – we don’t mind who the cheque is from, as long as the entry form has been completed in full.

Can I send one cheque for multiple applications?
This is acceptable as long as it is clear which applications are covered by the cheque.

Can I participate in a wheelchair?
You will be very welcome but please get in touch with us beforehand and we will make every effort to ensure you enjoy the event. One or two parts of the route will be challenging as they are quite steep gradients and some of the path through Lydiard Park is uneven with loose gravel.

If you are unsure if the route will be suitable or you would like to discuss how we can support you to participate, please contact us prior to completing an entry form, either by email on or by phone on 0845 680 8064

Please contact us if you would like more details.

Can I bring my dog along?
We welcome well behaved dogs and their handlers. Please keep your dog on a lead and close by so as not to hinder other participants. There will be water provided for them at the water station and start/finish area and all dogs that complete the course will receive their own Goody Bag.  Please note: Doggy Goody Bags will be provided but only for each dog registered on your application.

Can I walk with my child in a buggy?
We are delighted to see people of all ages enjoying the Mad March Hare so babies and toddlers in buggies and pushchairs are most welcome. You will be directed to a specific area for the start of the event to allow faster runners and walkers to get away first.

I have a disability – can I enter?
We have done our best to make the route as accessible as possible.

If you require the assistance of a carer or supporter they will be guaranteed a place at the normal entry fee.

If you are unsure if the route will be suitable or you would like to discuss how we can support you to participate, please contact us prior to completing an entry form, either by email on or by phone on 0845 680 8064

I ran/walked/volunteered before – do I get priority?
There is no priority entry to our event.

Does everyone who enters get a place?
NO – places are allocated on a first come first served basis. We have strict health and safety rules and are restricted in number of entrants – hence we cannot say yes to everybody, much as we would love to!

I have entered – now what?
You’ll can download the following from the download page:

  • The 5km and 10km route maps
  • The Lydiard Site map
  • The Sponsorship form

If you entered by post you will be sent all the above in the post.

Event numbers and Parking Permits will also be sent in the post.

Being mindful of cost and the environment, packs will be sent to the person whose address heads the application and will include relevant items for all those named on that application.

Please let us know if you have not received your pack by the 11th March 2019.
Entries received after the 16th March – packs will not be posted out and must be collected on the morning of the event.
