Fury and Phantom hint at thrilling new challenges in the upcoming Gladiators series
London: Gladiators is making a comeback on BBC One, and fans are buzzing! The second series kicks off on January 18, and it’s looking exciting with a fresh lineup of Gladiators.
Among the stars are Phantom, or Toby Olubi, and Fury, known as Jodie Ounsley. They recently dropped some hints about what’s coming up in the new series.
On BBC Breakfast with Roger Johnson and Sarah Campbell, Phantom teased a brand-new game that he’s super excited about. He mentioned it’s one of his favorites!
When Sarah asked if the new game is called “unleash,” both Phantom and Fury played it cool. Phantom joked, “You’ll have to wait and see!” while Fury added, “Phantom is good at it!”
The revamped show is hosted by Bradley Walsh and his son Barney, and it’s set to return this weekend. The first episode airs at 5:50 p.m. on Saturday, with new episodes every week.
Fans will see their favorite Gladiators back in action, including Sabre, Legend, Diamond, and many more. It’s going to be a blast!
There are also two new Gladiators joining the team, but their identities are still under wraps. Sadly, Nitro, aka Harry Aikines-Aryeetey, will miss this season due to a training injury.
This season promises thrilling new challenges, including the return of Atlaspheres, a classic from the original 90s show. Competitors will climb into huge metallic spheres and try to score points while dodging the Gladiators.
Bradley is pumped about the new series, saying, “The Gladiators mean business and they are back tougher than before!” Plus, contenders will wear helmets with cameras for a first-person view of the action.
