Stoke-on-Trent: A sad story unfolded when an 84-year-old woman died after a crash with an unmarked police car. The accident happened on December 5, but she passed away on Christmas Day.

The police were called to the scene on Park Hall Road. They arrived quickly, along with paramedics and firefighters. The woman was driving a red Nissan Micra when the unmarked police Skoda Octavia collided with her.

Initially, she was treated and sent home. Sadly, she had to go back to the hospital on December 16 and didn’t make it. Now, the Independent Office for Police Conduct is looking into what happened.

They’re reviewing body camera footage and police radio calls. The IOPC wants to understand the actions of the two officers involved. Their director expressed condolences to the woman’s family and promised to keep them updated.

Meanwhile, Staffordshire Police are asking for witnesses to come forward. They want to hear from anyone who saw the crash or the vehicles before it happened. If you have information, please call 101 and mention incident 404 from December 5.
