Bristol: Lorraine Kelly was clearly not happy during Wednesday’s Good Morning Britain. The chat turned to some news that really got under her skin.

She was on the show to promote her own ITV program when the conversation shifted to current events. That’s when Lorraine couldn’t hold back and said, “Don’t get me started!”

The issue? Bristol City Council is thinking about cutting funding for school crossing patrols, which means lollipop people might be out of a job. They’re looking to save around £314,000 a year.

Lorraine was visibly annoyed as she reacted to the news. Susanna Reid mentioned that Lorraine was “up in arms” about it. Lorraine exclaimed, “Lollipop people, what’s going on?”

She made a strong case for their importance, saying, “For goodness sake, I know everyone’s got to make cutbacks, but there are some things that are sacred in this country and it’s lollipop people.”

She added, “I love crossing over with a lollipop lady or a lollipop man, I want them to stay!” Ed Balls chimed in, reminding her it’s for the kids, but Lorraine playfully insisted, “I know that Ed, I know, but I’m young at heart!”

Ed then teased her about potholes, and Lorraine jumped right in, saying, “Potholes are outrageous, you know, listen, don’t get me started!”

Ed laughed, “I just got you started!” and Lorraine shot back, “You know which buttons to press! But stop this with the lollipop people.”

In other news on the show, Susanna had a breaking news update about inflation dropping to 2.5%. She shared that it was better than what analysts expected, which was a nice change.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV and ITV X, so there’s always something to catch up on!
