Pete Wicks shares a scary experience involving carbon monoxide at home

London: So, Pete Wicks, you know, the guy from The Only Way is Essex, had a pretty wild scare at home. He recently opened up about a close call that made him evacuate his place.
During a chat with his buddy Jamie Laing on the Private Parts podcast, Pete shared how he almost had a serious accident while chilling at home during the lockdown. He mentioned that he was drinking a lot and even bought a shisha pipe to enjoy the nice weather.
But here’s where it got dicey. While heating coals for the shisha, he accidentally left the gas on. He went outside to smoke, and when he came back in, he noticed a strange smell. Suddenly, alarms started going off, and he was like, “What the heck is that?”
He was wandering around, confused, until he found the carbon monoxide alarm going off. That’s when he started feeling light-headed. Talk about a wake-up call! He realized he had to get out of the house fast because of the carbon monoxide.
He even had to send his dogs to his mum’s place and slept outside to be safe. It’s crazy how dangerous that stuff can be since it’s colorless and odorless. The NHS warns that it can make you really sick.
He also mentioned some symptoms to watch out for, like headaches and dizziness. It’s a serious issue, with about 30 people in England and Wales dying from it each year. Yikes!
On a different note, Pete also talked about another risky moment while filming for Celebrity SAS, where he ended up with broken ribs after a helicopter jump. This guy has had quite the adventures!
Known for his time on The Only Way is Essex, Pete has been a staple on British TV, appearing in shows like Celebs Go Dating and even making it to fourth place on Strictly Come Dancing last year.
