An illegal rave in Bristol’s St Philips was halted by police shortly after it began, thanks to public reports of loud music.
Bristol: So, there was this illegal rave in St Philips that got shut down super quick. The police swooped in after just about 30 minutes of music. People in the area were not having it and called the cops to complain about the loud noise.
When the officers arrived at Sparke Evans Park around 6:35 PM, they found about 40 folks with all their sound gear and lights set up. The police told the organizers that if they didn’t pack up, they might take their stuff.
Luckily, the organizers agreed, and by 7 PM, the music was off. Inspector Mark Partridge thanked everyone who reported the unlicensed event. He mentioned that around 150 more people were trying to join in, many of them arriving just after the police got there.
He pointed out that if the public hadn’t called in early, it would have been a lot tougher for them to stop the rave. The inspector stressed that their actions aren’t about ruining anyone’s fun. It’s all about keeping the community safe and preventing disruptions.
Unlicensed events can be risky, especially when they’re held in places that aren’t safe. So, it’s good to see the police stepping in to keep things under control.
