Stoke-on-Trent: The PureGym car park has been closed for a long time. It’s been 13 months since the work started. Engineers have been busy outside since March last year.

Fencing went up when Severn Trent began their project. They’re working to improve river health. PureGym expects the car park to reopen by May 1. That’s when things will get back to normal.

This project is part of a bigger plan to screen waste water. It aims to make the rivers in the area cleaner. New storage tanks have been installed around North Staffordshire. The total investment for this work is around £6 million.

Charlene Richards from Severn Trent said these works are essential. They will help improve river health in the area. She mentioned that the teams are making good progress. They appreciate everyone’s patience during this closure.

While the main car park was closed, the side car park next to Dreams stayed open. It has space for 50 cars, so the gym remained accessible. Some members chose to go to the Fenton branch instead.

A PureGym spokesperson explained the situation. They said the front car park had reduced spaces due to the maintenance work. However, the gym has stayed open, and parking is available next to Dreams. They also offered access to the Fenton branch during this time.

They expect the work to finish by May 1, 2025. After that, the front car park will be back to full capacity. It’s been a long wait, but the end is in sight!
