Residents are fed up with anti-social behavior in Rose Street. They hope new CCTV will help deter offenders and improve safety in their neighborhood.
These folks have been using the alley behind homes as a toilet. It’s not just messy; it’s unsafe. Broken bottles and syringes are left everywhere. And they’ve been rifling through clothes from a nearby bank, leaving them scattered around.
Finally, the city council is stepping in. They’ve agreed to install CCTV to help tackle the problem. Residents are hopeful this will keep the troublemakers away and provide evidence if needed.
Geoff Glover, a local pensioner, shared his concerns. He’s lived there forever and feels unsafe. He mentioned how the area in front of his garage has become a dumping ground. He’s worried about what might happen if he goes out at night.
Marianne Roberts, another resident, echoed his feelings. She’s seen some shocking things while walking her dog. She wishes the alley was gated off for safety.
Paul Weaver, a neighbor, also thinks the CCTV will help. He believes it should deter the homeless from rummaging through the bins at the Co-op.
The Northwood Residents’ Association is aware of the issues and is pushing for action. They’re glad to hear about the camera and hope it will make a difference soon.
