Stafford: An 18-year-old named Dafydd was driving his friends home after a party. Sadly, he lost control of his car and crashed into a tree.
Along with Dafydd, his friends Morgan and Sophie died in the accident. Only Brooke survived, but she feels terrible about not buckling up.
Dafydd had just passed his driving test and was excited to drive. He even recorded a video on his way to pick up his friends, worried he might have been speeding.
They were driving on a road they didn’t know well. The car hit a humpback bridge, and things went wrong quickly. Dafydd lost control, and the car veered off the road.
Tragically, both Dafydd and Morgan died at the scene. Sophie passed away a few days later in the hospital. Brooke, who survived, wishes she had put on her seatbelt.
She described feeling scared during the ride and had asked Dafydd to slow down. A tracking app showed they were going pretty fast, but it wasn’t confirmed.
Dafydd’s mom said she had no worries about his driving. The car was in good shape, and he wasn’t under the influence of anything. It was just a terrible accident.
The coroner mentioned that there had been other serious crashes on that road before. They’re looking into making the road safer, but nothing has been done yet.
Brooke shared how much she misses her friends. She called Sophie kind and inspiring, while Morgan was always funny and caring. Dafydd was a great friend, too.
It’s heartbreaking to see young lives lost like this. Everyone is hoping for changes to prevent future tragedies on that road.
