A Stoke-on-Trent school has turned things around, earning a ‘good’ rating from Ofsted. The hard work of staff and students has paid off, leading to significant improvements.
Stoke-on-Trent: An independent school is celebrating a big win. North Road Academy, which was told to improve in 2023, just got a ‘good’ rating from Ofsted in every area.
Inspectors praised the school for its hard work. They noted how the school tackled past weaknesses after a visit in November.
Before, pupils weren’t achieving their best due to knowledge gaps. But now, the school has a clear vision and has focused on improving education quality.
All five areas inspected received a ‘good’ rating. This includes quality of education, behaviour, personal development, leadership, and early years provision.
The Ofsted report highlighted the school’s values. It showed how both pupils and staff respect each other and their environment.
From the start, kids learn to listen and follow instructions. The school offers a broad curriculum while teaching about faith too.
Some students with special needs get support at the ‘Centre for Exceptional Children’. This helps them with their learning.
Pupils enjoy their lessons and are motivated to succeed. Most do well in tests and exams, and they attend school regularly.
Many students take pride in their roles as school monitors. They help keep things running smoothly.
Older students appreciate the career guidance they receive. It inspires them to aim high and shows them how to reach their goals.
The headteacher, Naeem Bashir, expressed pride in the school’s achievement. He noted the hard work of the staff in raising education quality.
He added that their goal is to empower students with both Islamic and academic knowledge. This will help them as lifelong learners and community contributors.
