Stoke-on-Trent: A man on trial for murder has shared his story. Adam Williams, 26, started selling drugs as a teenager. He claims he made up to £8,000 a month but insists he wasn’t the boss.

Williams is one of three men accused of killing Rikki Berry, known as ‘Nuggy’. Berry was shot three times outside his girlfriend’s house last July. Williams and his co-defendant, Connor Walsh, allegedly scouted the area before the attack.

During his testimony, Williams admitted to previous drug convictions. He said he was dealing drugs again at the time of the shooting. He described selling crack and heroin in Stoke-on-Trent.

Williams served time in prison for drug offenses. After his release, he returned to dealing, claiming he made significant profits. He mentioned that Walsh helped him by bagging drugs for sale.

When asked about his operations, Williams said he took precautions to avoid getting caught. He frequently changed phones and avoided keeping drugs close to him. He even stored drugs in other people’s homes.

Williams claimed he wasn’t the top guy in the drug trade. He said they were just a group of friends working together. He insisted he wasn’t violent and only stopped serving customers who didn’t pay.

As the trial continues, the jury has seen CCTV footage of the shooting. The video shows the gunman approaching Berry’s home before the attack. Family members were visibly upset as the footage played in court.

All three defendants deny the charges against them. The trial is ongoing, and the courtroom remains tense as the details unfold.
